It was feast or famine at Crescent this weekend. Saturday we waited for wind and Sunday by the last race we had more than we needed...but it was fun! We started a bit early Sunday and had three great great races. We began with overcast skies and SSW winds about 12 to 15 kts. Both the first and second race had similar conditions and both were windward leewards, two times around. The last race they set a triangle! The winds kicked up to about 15 with some gusts about 20! It made for interesting jibe marks!

Principal Race Officer - Matt Bounds - Irish Coffee Gift Certificate

Top Junior (21 or under) - Brian McDonald (16!!) - Thomas Hardware Backpack
Top Female Skipper - Nicole Shedden - Irish Coffee Gift Certificate
1st to 5th Half Hull's (made by Ron Sherry of Composite Concepts) and GlassFox Pint Glasses for the crew.
Sportsmanship Award - Half Hull - ballot to be filled out by each competitor.
The winner of this award was Andy Gunkler (3737). Andy's third crew was not available on Saturday but was there on Sunday. Due to that Andy hand wrote a letter to the RC asking to not be scored for Sunday's races. Had he been scored the team would have finished 5th!

Notice of Regatta
Saturday evening will feature encore performances of the Daiquiri Whacker (gas powered blender). It will be producing all kinds of concoctions (NA smoothies too...). Feel free to bring ingredients of your choice! This thing gets pretty good mileage...
Beer, pop, and water will also be available.
After sailing we will have some "lawn games" going.
Saturday Dinner (about 6 pm) will be another "Joyce Special" buffet! Always a crowd pleaser!
We also have a sound system (compliments of Sloan Barbour at Pointe Electronics) and will invite people for "open mic" sessions after dinner. If you're musically inclined and would like to bring an instrument...please do!
